Beta test for audio stream

We will soon announce the Gabriola Radio audio stream (128 kbps), which is running right now. Have a listen and determine if you have any problems connecting. If you do have trouble note the computer you are using, the operating system and program.

We will trouble shoot any problems and then when all is tight, link to it on our web page and publicize.

After that we work on a live stream, podcasting, then our own FM channel can’t be far behind : )

We are streaming (128 kbps) the music from our shows plus some additional content we picked up along the way. We cannot stream content with out the creators permission so if you’d like your music or spoken word included send us a comment below or drop us a line.

Click the link here and enjoy.

“Voices From the Salish Sea” Spoken Word on CKGI

TheSpokenWordAP1

“Creative Community Communications Services” and “NewOldMedia” present:

“Voices From the Salish Sea”: an interactive customer/listener program series intended to increase awareness of, and discourse about the required components of “Healthy, Prosperous and Sustainable Community”. Although I have an outline that suggests several series, it is you, who will determine the direction and depth of our dialogue.

Please take a look at my website for more information about who I am and my skills and experience history. I am an integrator, investigator, inventor, interviewer and an instigator of social change – a typical Gabriolan!

My “rough” framework, presented below, is an extension of the paradigm “Nature, People and Business In Harmony” for “Healthy, Prosperous and Sustainable Community”. The current series plan is:

1. Restoring Democracy – Episode 1 “is on the air” with Elizabeth May
a companion piece “Laugh or Cry” is appended to Episode 1.
2. Restorative Justice and Conflict Resolution – Episode 1 (in production)

3. Wellness, Curing Our Health Care System – root causes and cures
4. Saving Our Beaches And Climate Change – Post Carbon Economy

5. Business Planning Workshop – the dream, the potential, the pitch
6. Personal Financial Planning Workshop – “after interest and taxes”

7. Emergency 24/7 Communications Support – The Role of CKGI 98.7 FM
8. Interactive Community Radio Theatre – new media, social network, “live”

9. Retirement Options for Living – Our Parents and Us – Having Fun.

Each episode will include expert comment, issues, alternative solutions and will be open to an ongoing dialogue with you. Each series will include as many episodes as required to satisfy your interest.

This entire program is “in the public interest and in the public domain”. That is, you can do pretty much whatever you like with it – with care.
