Wheelchair accessibility accommodations approved

Approve funding plans for 2012
One show per month for twelve months. Staffing budget for production assistance approved $600 to cover wages. Employee to be hired.
Currently in development January, February and November shows.

President’s report development and process. “Come Together” shall be the focus and it shall include all the facets of the station start up and tower site proposal.

Islands Trust public meeting – to be held in 2012 date tba. Approve venue costs and printing $75

Minutes Board Meeting – August 25, 2011

ArtWorks 2pm
The fundraising budget will include the studio location, building, stl, transmission tower, tx equipment and site plus connecting existing studio equipment for programmer use. Additional studio equipment will be selected, purchased and installed after launch. So we will launch with one microphone, one mixing board and connections for computers and CD players.

Creative for the January show – You Turn Me On … Live at the Haven.
Possible host CJ
Possible venue – Phoenix Theatre, Ken to confirm
Blue Lounge show to follow at same venue.
liquor by the venue
possible FM special event license, shaw to provide stl.
finish last CD for sale at this show.
Ken to request permission from Joni Mitchell for performance and recording rights.

AGM will be held 30 days following a CRTC decision.

No deposits since last meeting

Birt we allocate $250 per year for hosting our website, email, audio service, podcasting to 2 Gbytes.

Gerry, JohnH, Ken, Artworks 3pm quorum  satisfied, Kathy in the building.

Show and Tell included Johns spoken word schedule for 2011.

Ken found a local source for suitable cds to give away with memberships. Let’s go ahead with John’s idea for the welcome wagon. We could include colourful ticket noting a membership form, get cd with every membership. Lifetime membership also get a Free cd per year for 100 years. Eligible for one more 100 year renewal with birth certificate and picture id.

We should call out to the community for a cd drive this fall.

Steve has been thanked, John submitted a letter for the new members, Ken to find an editor, maybe ask Iain.

Discussion regarding light switches concluded it was safer to have a radio studio with illuminated light switches.

The clinic’s funding program was discussed. Ice Cream sales work.

Egypt was praised for being cool

AGM set for Thursday, June 23rd, 2011

Ken to meet with bookkeeper and discuss price for statements, reconciliation, and correcting entries. May 1st – January 31st, 2011.

NCRC2011 is on the East Coast. Mark your calendars for June 6-10, when CKDU Halifax will host the 30th annual NCRC. Ken’s going. All interested volunteers wanting to have their registration paid by Gabriola Radio please contact Ken Zakreski. stnmgr@ckgi.ca
