Radio News – Nov 12th, 2009

AGM called for Dec 15th 2009 7 pm upstairs at Suzys. Next meeting is November 17th, same time and location.

Board nominated directors agreed to let their name stand.  David Vincent and John Hague are currently appointed as board of directors and will join incumbent Gerry Mountain running for the director positions at the AGM. Gerry is running for a two year term. David will run for a one year term and John will run for a two year directorship. Read the rest of this entry »

New Evening Meeting Times

In order to respond to the requests for an evening radio meeting we have secured a place and a time.

Suzy’s upstairs the third Tuesday of the month at 7pm. Next meeting is November 17th. we’ll try it for a while and see how it goes. We will cover the progress on the station with our application and the start up of our new website for pod casting. We are still holding regular meetings every Thursday at 2pm Artworks upstairs. Rogers application
Rogers’ application is still active for 98.5 FM. If they are approved Rogers will provide us with an engineering brief so we will eventually get on the dial. The situation is that there are no other protected channels that will work from a Gabriola transmitter site. This means if Rogers wins their application for 98.5FM, we are left with a low power FM channel or AM. A low power channel will give us basically the same coverage as our 60 watt application however it is not protected so a US channel or another Canadian broadcaster can come along and bump us off our frequency.
